I am making a rib roast with a recipe that needs rosemary. my sister won't eat that. any ideas to substitute?

Any herbs that you like will work well. I love Thyme with beef. You could also use oregano, basil, or tarragon, or a comination of those.

Just make it up with other seasonings; like garlic salt and whatever ones you like ..you won;t even notice the rosemary gone; as it really does nothing' for the taste at all..
Reply:Take slices of garlic and cut slits into your rib roast. Put those garlic pieces in the slits.

Salt %26amp; Pepper.

Cook.

Eat and enjoy.
Reply:I would like to ask why your sister won't eat rosemary, but will eat other herbs. I use a mixture of marjoram and basil and a small amount of garlic salt. The suggestion of thyme is also acceptable, but I would not use oregano as it has the ability to overpower other seasonings and is better used in stews, sauces and soups as they need the flavoring. A good rib roast needs very little. So whatever you choose go light.
Reply:If you (and your sister) like spicyness, try this.

Just take cajun seasoning and rub all over your rib roast. Bake as you would normally. Really yummy...

Or you can season it with salt, pepper, and garlic powder and cook. 15 min before done, smear with BBQ sauce and let finish cooking. (TX-style)
Reply:You could always leave the rosemary out altogether. If her dislike is from using the stiff sprigs, you could use ground rosemary, or maybe some thyme.
